An interactive visit to Valentì Masachs Museum

History

The geologic museum Valentí Masachs of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, is situated inside the Escola Universitària Politècnica de Manresa. It was founded in 1980, the first manager was the dott. Valentí Masachs Alavedra. The first showcases of mineralogy and palaeontology with which the museum was inaugurated belonged to the manager's personal collections of fossils and mineral or they were mineral picked up by the other members of the museum.
In 1993 showcases relative to the uses of the mineral were added and this signed a new and important stage in the Museum didactic offer to students and teachers of every order and degree of teaching. The process was completed in 1995 with the addition of further showcases devoted to the utility of the rocks.
