Museo Storico di Voghera

Voghera History Museum was established by "Associazione Nazionale del Fante - Voghera" in 1971.

The ancient "Caserma di Cavalleria" houses the Museum, which covers an area of 1,200 mq. A force, a corp or a speciality of the Italian and foreign Armed Forces is represented in the various halls. The Museum features the collection of military relics, documents, arms, medals and military uniforms of different Forces or Corps, or, of specific wars and periods, ranging from the early 19th century to modern times. It also features a local history exhibition, covering an area of 355 mq, used as a conference and exhibition hall.

Numerous are the relics which once belonged to some among the citizens who have honoured their Mother Country since Napoleonic times.

The Museum features numerous volumes in the Military History Library, notable images of the World Wars, the Italian East African War and the Spanish War in the Phototeque and documents mainly referred to local history in the Records Room.

The Museum exhibits the car in which Generale Dalla Chiesa and his wife Emanuela Setti Carraro were murdered.
