Music and songs made during mining strikes form an important historical record of how people felt about strikes and their impact. This record was produced during the 1974 strike in order to raise money for those that were affected by the strike. This record was one of many records and tapes produced in the 1970s and 1980s in order to show people how the miners felt at the time. These songs are still remembered today and are often sung by mining communities when they come together to commemorate the strikes.
