It only took about 10 minutes to get to the butchers.
"And what d'ya want today my lad," the butcher asked Harold
"Two pig's trotters and half a pound of tripe please butcher," Harold shouted over the grinding of the meat mincer.
"Just comin' up my lad," the butcher replied, turning his back to Harold.
Whilst Harold was waiting for the pigs trotters and the half a pound of tripe, he began to get the coupons out of the ration book. It didn't take long for the meat to be collected.
"That's nearly all your coupons used up for the week my lad. You'll have to tell ya mam to go steady," the butcher warned him rubbing his hands with delight.
"I will sir,"Harold said as he handed over the coupons.
"Be on ya way now me lad," the butcher urged.
