At home Fred had just finished at the pits and he had gone to sit down next to the fire and smoke his pipe. Fred had taken his pipe into the parlour this morning when he went to get the newspaper. Fred found his pipe and noticed that one of the cupboards was slightly open. Fred tried to close the cupboard but there was something in the way. He opened the door and pulled out the peggy rug. He saw the large rip down the side and wondered what had happened. Fred knew that Mabel was having a hard time with the kids so he started to sew it up.When he had sewn it up he place it on Mabel's chair.
